Are you interested in a healthy diet and weight loss, but seem to find it impossible to lose weight. A common contributing factor is a slow metabolism. But there are some simple solutions and foods you can eat that will speed up metabolism.

Exercise is probably the most significant way to speed up metabolism. Even minimum physical activity is beneficial for increasing metabolism. The key is to do it on a regular and consistent basis. Gradually increase the length/duration of your exercise as you become more comfortable.

Water is core to metabolic exchange, without it, you would not have any metabolism. Water suppresses appetite and draws postponed fats to participate in a metabolic exchange. Apple cider vinegar has many useful minerals and organic acids that speed metabolism up. It suppresses appetite and encourages lipid and carbohydrates to decompose. Just dissolve one table spoon of apple cider vinegar and half a teaspoon of honey in a glass of water and drink it before every meal.

Omega-3 fatty acids. They regulate the leptin levels in your body, which determines how fast your metabolism works. The best source of Omega-3 is fish, particularly its fat. But if you are not a fish eater you can easily substitute with small Omega-3 capsule that you can get at any health food store or supermarket.

Proteins. It is a fact that your body uses almost twice as much energy to digest proteins than carbohydrates or fats. So if you substitute about 20% of carbohydrates to protein, you will increase your calorie burning capability by 5%.

Folic acid. Lentils, beans, okra, sunflower seeds, asparagus, carrots – are just a few foods that are rich in folic acid. All of these foods speed metabolism up, improve your immune system and are great for healthy diet and weight loss.

Black coffee and green tea can help you burn calories almost 10% faster. Make sure you drink them without sugar if you really want to lose weight.

Capsaicin is an active component of chili peppers and is what makes them hot. It speeds up your heart rate and increases basal temperature. Hot food boosts metabolism by 25% and the effect can last for up to 3 hours after you are finished with your meal.

Grapefruit is the number one fruit that speeds up your metabolism. So eat fresh grapefruits regularly if you want a healthy diet and weight loss.

Beer? Yep, it has been known long ago that beer regenerates body cells and speeds metabolism up. However, obviously you should use this in moderation or you will be counteracting any benefit.
